The 80/20 Rule has been talked about by a number of people—I don’t know who first came up with the concept.

But the 80/20 Rule basically says this:

80% of your success comes from just 20% of the things you do.

Taken further, the 80/20 rule can be seen in different areas of society:

  • 20% of authors sell 80% of the books
  • 20% of your employees make 80% of your sales
  • 20% of criminals commit 80% of all crimes

The point is, usually a small group of people are responsible for a large portion of things.

And the same can be said for your life—just a few things you do are responsible for the large portion of your success.

Perhaps 20% of your products produce 80% of your revenues.

Or, maybe there is a 20% period of time in your day that produces 80% of your production.

Whatever it is, you want to FIND that 20% and flip it.

If 20% of what you’re doing is giving you 80% of your results, try doing that thing 80% of the time and imagine what your results will be.

Here’s another secret:

The supposed 80/20 rule does not exist for the top 1%.

All the top performers I know, including myself, use the 10X Rule—using all of our energy moving to a specific target.

The 10X Rule is based on an understanding of how much effort and thought are required to get anything done successfully.

Chances are that if you look back over your life, you’ll see that you have wildly underestimated both the actions and reasoning necessary to accomplish any endeavor to the point where it could be labeled successful.

The 10X Rule is about what you have to think and do to get to a point 10 times more gratifying than you have ever imagined.

And if the 80/20 rule is true for you, then you need to start multiplying that 20%.

Remember this—and if you don’t get anything else from this blog post, at least take this with you:

Any target attacked with the right actions in the right amounts with persistence is attainable.

If you keep spending time on the 80% that doesn’t bring many results, you will never have big results in life.

And nobody will benefit from your failure.

Success is not something that happens to you; it’s something that happens because of you and because of the actions you take.

Taking massive action means making somewhat unreasonable choices and then following these up with even more action.

Focus your efforts in on that 20% of your life that will make the biggest impact.

Massive action that is focused on the RIGHT things will explode your bank account, your network, and your life.

The more you win in life like this, the higher your potential will be—and the more you will grow to love challenges.

So, go 10X today.

Start attacking whatever that “20%” is for you HERE.

Be Great,

GC
